> Mercatino Stimigliano 2 - Stimigliano market 2

Yahoo! :-)
Così potrete vedere qualche foto scattata in questi giorni.
L'ultima sera, mia cugina Alessandra, alias Uipipiui, mi ha tenuto compagnia, esponendo i suoi lavoretti! :-)
Insomma, poteva andare meglio... Ma, in fondo, poteva anche andare peggio! :-D

Yahoo! After just 40 years I was trying to do that, I could put a photo album in the blog! Well, better late than never, right? ;-)
So you can see some pictures I took these days. The quality is not great, but remember that, at least for now, my only camera is my mobile phone! :-P

Today I'm here to tell you how the new selling-experience was
.
I love Stimigliano in a special way, my father was born there, so I know this little village since I was a child; the Orsini Castle, the old part of the village, the square with the St Cosma and Damiano's church, and the monument of the Liberation from Fascism, the little St Valentine's church and the many terraces from which you can see the Sabine country are memories I'll never delete from my heart.
BUT it'll be hard to forget how much people from there can be stubborn too!
Unfortunately the three nights in Stimigliano didn't have much success: the market was done just by me and another woman, and, when people knew we were selling handmade things, they ran away, scared... :-S
Once again children liked my table, even if, unfortunately, most of them were quite spoiled and rude :-(
Another negative thing, many people didn't believe my works were handmade, so they thought prices were too high, even if I tried anything to keep them as low as possible :-S
In the end, the misadventure of the last night: after buying hairpins decorated with a FIMO piece of Mimosa Cake, a child started pulling the decoration, until she removed it... Imagine the not-happy reaction of her mother, who treated me like if I organised a fraud to sell her something of bad quality for a high price... And think about the fact that out of 4€, at least 3€ were just the price of the materials... In the end I let her pay less
to not feel guilty! :-S
Anyway, luckily, someone (the older women of the village and some people coming from other villages) appreciated our works and made us feel better! :-)
The last night, my cousin Alessandra, alias Uipipiui, kept me company, showing her little works! :-)
In conclusion, it could be better... But it could even be worse! :-D

> Ambra e Nereo

F: - Ambra, bella, come stai?
F: - Ho sentito, ho sentito...! Io sto bene, lei come sta?
N: - E' perché viviamo in strada.
N: - Buona sera signorina, a presto!
F: - Buona sera Signor Nereo! Ciao Ambra!

I don't know where they come from, even if Nereo's way of talking is typical of the north of Italy.
She's a little pale brown dog, 13 years old. He's a quite fat man, white hair, 64 yers old.
They live in the street, travelling with their bike between Piazza del Popolo and Corso Italia, always together and together they represent happiness.
F: - Ambra, you beautiful girl, how are you?
She looks at me with her big sweet eyes, moves her ears down, starts wagging her tail, then she gets up, comes out from her bed behind the bike and she comes closer to have cuddles.
N: - Good evening! Can you feel how hot it is? Eh, but... They say it's going to rain!
Ouch... Then tomorrow I'll have to take my umbrella with me! Nereo loves to listen to the radio or read newspapers to have informations about weather... And living in the street he notices every little changing, so he knows when weather is going to change!
F: - Yes, I can feel it, I can feel it... I'm fine, how are you?
N: - Eh, I'm here... Reading... Listening to music... What else should I do? And here it's ok, it's the most windy place of Corso Italia!
He smiles, like if it's the most obvious thing of the world. And it is actually! While I become hysteric everytime I leave home to go to work!
N: - I just finished this book, it's really interesting, keep it!
He gave me another book, the third one! I feel ashamed, but I take it to not offend him, cos I'm "his friend", like he always says.
N: - I would offer you something to drink, but I already finished money, I took Ambra to the vet!
Now I feel really ashamed! It should be me offering him something, I'm the one who works!
To the vet... yes, Nereo loves Ambra: vet, cuddles, walks, best food possible and sometimes a little bit of extra food; he doesn't use her to ask for money, like you can often see.
Every morning, early, he plays with her, running on "their" lawn. Ambra is 13 years old, but she looks younger.
He was so worried when the vet told him she had a cancer and she needed an operation, although she was so old; he talked smiling, trying to comfort me, saying she was fine and she needed the operation to not suffer. Or maybe he was trying to comfort himself, trying to hide some tear. Now he's so happy his little dog came back "home" close to him! She proved she's really strong.
N: - It's cos we live in the street. I'm never ill either and, when I am, I recover immediately!
Maybe it's true, maybe it's a more healthy way of living! Those doubts again... Sometimes I really think we should take them both as example. They have nothing, but they live in a good way and they're happy. Happy, cos it's sunny, so they can feel warm; happy, cos it's raining, so the air will be fresh and rain will chase away insects from plane trees.
So Nereo can relax to read one of his many books, the only thing he really asks for.
Maybe he can relax, cos during his life he saw a lot of things... Or, at least you'd say that listening to him while he talks about his past.
N: - It's so hot, cos it's humid! When I worked in Somalia, it was so hot that, if you squeezed your clothes, a litre of water came out of them! Do you know why? Cos it was humid! I worked on the roof of a factory and the metal plates were hot like fire!
He also told me about moments during which the air was dry, so they could work even if it was 50 degrees. He likes Somalia, cos weather is always nice and it rains only during the rainy season.
He told me about when he was in war and he saw one of his mates die. About when he was in Russia and it was freezing. About how you can recover from a cold and about how you can win during a fight:
N: - They're dangerous techniques, I teach them just to you, cos you're like a niece, so if someone attacks you, you can defend yourself!
Everytime I can dedicate some minute to him, when I go back home from work, Nereo lets me know a little bit of his world, cos, minute by minute, "by now it's a long time he knows me" , at least seven years!
Luckily he drinks less alcoholics now... Even if the death of his girlfriend made him really upset. But he could find strength again and he came back smiling.
Meanwhile, someone is feeling tired about all these words and let us know her opinion: Ambra started barking in Nereo's direction, looking at him with smart eyes and wagging her tail with strength.
N: - She wants me to take her to the fountain! When she starts behaving like that... You can't help it! Wait, wait! Here, let's go!
He gets up slowly slowly, unties the leash from his bike, some stroke on his furry life companion and starts walking towards the fountain.
And it's time to go for me too, if I don't take the next bus it will take me even more than the usual two hours to go home!
N: - Good bye young lady, see you soon!
F: - Good bye Mr Nereo! Ciao Ambra!

> Mercatino Stimigliano! - Market in Stimigliano!

Chissà cosa riuscirò a combinare in questi 3 giorni???
=^.^=

That's incredible: they called me for another market!
This time I'll be in Stimigliano, my father's village, 40 minutes far from Rome.
I wonder how it'll go during these 3 days!!! =^.^=

> Torrita Tiberina, mosaico di foto! - Torrita Tiberina, pictures mosaic!

Spero :-S

I'm here again! And, as ever, I'm fighting against technology: how can I put a slideshow here??? I'll understand that one day. But, while waiting for that, I'll try at least to put some sort of picture of the Torrita Tiberina festival here, so you can see them!... I hope :-S

> Mercatino - Market

Quattro giorni (13/16 Agosto 2009), anch'essi abbastanza positivi.

Unfortunately my pc is still giving me problems, so I think I'll have to wait for the pictures of the Market in Casperia... Sigh! But I can SHORTLY say what's happened!
The two days... Ehm... The two nights in Casperia were really beautiful and my little handmade objects had a good success, especially among children! XD
But my best customer was an American girl who bought really a lot of things!
Those who organised the whole festival offered us dinner: Stringozzi (a particular type of pasta), meat, salad, chips, fried pizza (another particular type of pizza)... Well, something light! XD
Furthermore cheerleaders from Casperia and the nice panorama made everything look even more beautiful.
Only one bad thing: I burned my thumb! One of the little candles I put in the candle-holder I made with FIMO clay, instead of turning itself off when finished, started making big flames, so when I blew on it to turn it off, one of the flames wrapped my finger...
So: carnivorous candle + Uapa's finger = 2 ice bags and a cream against burns!!!
Few days later, they requested me in another market, in Torrita Tiberina (another village near Rome).
Four, quite good, days (13/16 August 2009).
Children were my affectionate customers here too and some of them visited me every evening to buy something or even just to help me in putting things on the table! :-D
Unfortunately of this characteristic village I could see just a little street where I parked my car (actually finding a parking there was nearly a miracle), killer stairs (their inclination
was of 45°) and the place where we had our table: one of the best, cos of the wide visibility.
Wrong things about our place: in the palm tree above us there were some sparrows families that, obviously, didn't have a bathroom in their nests and the ball of some children that often flew over hour heads, threatening our tables.
Various shows kept us company: two dancing evenings, a concert of the cover band of an old famous Italian singer, Lucio Battisti (the best one I've ever heard: closing my eyes it was like if the real Lucio Battisti was singing!) and the comic show of "Pablo e Pedro" (two famous comic actors. I gave them two magnets I made with hama beads, with their names!).
I hope I can post soon the pictures of Torrita and to take back those of Casperia, including the killer-candle! ;-)

> Buon giorno! - Good morning!

Forse ci sto iniziando a capire qualcosa... Bah!
Ma appena sarà possibile, proverò a metterle qui!

Maybe I'm starting to understand something... Bah!
Unfortunately my pc became crazy again: I can't open my folder so I can't take pictures of the little market... :'(
But when I'll be able to do that, I'll put them here!

> Uhm 2!

So, this is my first day in this new blog, so, fingers crossed and let's see if I'm able to stay here...! :-S
